Nice to hear from you! Thanks for your response. Well here’s the deal…
The first two images here show the example of the problem I’m having with materials.
Above you see a mix of materials. The background crater wall is not beautiful but it’s good enough because this is a light animation, and the texture tells us where we are. But the foreground ground is supposed to be rock and ice that has this light feel, but right now it’s too cartoony and I’m failing at finding the right balance. So I’m seeking someone just to give me the material / texture to put into the ground and that’s that, or even guide me thru making the right procedural material… I get lost. The ice should be reflective and the ground should look like the surface of Mars. Again, not realistic, just to convey the story. I’m exporting these as freestyle.
Shot #3 shows an example of a shot I like… here our character goes thru a canyon, and it looks like a cartoon, and it’s just fine. (the pixelated rock moves by so quickly that is fine.)
The 4th image shows how my astronaut rig sucks. I know there are ways to fix it, by remodelling, and weight painting, etc., but again, I have so much to do I’d rather an expert just rig it and give me the character, there is only so much learning and practicing techniques I can do here, I’ve only got 3 weeks left. The alien could be rigged too, so that say I could move his body around and keep his legs on the ground, but it’s not critical… I can still hack my way through moving around his body parts on their own.
So that’s the thing, whatever in the world you have to say about it, I’d be eager to hear. Best to you!
